    Never knew you had to do this, my water heater makes all kinds of noise when heating, if I drain it do you think it would help?

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY 11 часов назад

      Yes. The noises you hear is steam popping/bubbling up through all the sediment stuck in the bottom of your tank. If you don't get that sediment out of there, it'll be time for a new heater much sooner than otherwise necessary. Good luck!

    Very good video. Now I am going to go try it. One thing I missed is how high does the water need to fill? Should it remain at below the safety release valve? Will it automatically adjust as you use hot water? Thanks

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY 11 часов назад

      There should be no air in the tank after you fill it - so as the water level rises, make sure you have a faucet open and the T&P valve closed. All the water flowing into the tank will push all the air completely out of the tank. It'll be completely full when you are done with no air bubbles. Good luck!

    Fantastic editing! I'm surprised the dual exciter was so different. I wonder if the dual amp had different phasing... I wonder if it would have sounded so different with the exciters in series (or just beefier exciters). Now, how close can you mount these to a wall?? Thanks :)

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY 11 часов назад

      The problem with mounting these close to a wall is phase cancellation due to reflection. If you want to put them close to a wall, put some acoustic insulation directly behind them - or mount them in front of some drapes/curtains, etc. Good luck!

    Wow! This was one of the best, most thorough videos that shows every step. I, personally, am still struggling with the problem of leaks from the tank bolts. Mine are not like those you showed. They come with rubber and metal washers and a double set of nuts for each bolt. I have tightened several times but still am seeing drips from the tank bolts... 😕. Can you suggest what I might be doing wrong? I am turning water on very slowly so I don't end up with too much leakage to clean up. Thanks for your video.

  • @jameymatheny3092
    @jameymatheny3092 2 дня назад

    Agreed. Both Teflon tape and Blue Monster Pipe Thread Sealant. For an extremely hot temperature application, like a steam boiler, first apply High Temperature Never-Seize Stainless, (Sometimes this is called nuclear), just coat the threads, don't get carried away. 2nd apply Teflon tape. Then apply the Never-Seize on top of the Teflon tape. Without doing this, whenever you try to remove the fitting, you will be pulling teeth. If you do as I described, the fitting will come out easily. I've done it 1,000's of times and it never let me down. A steam boiler needs to be inspected every year and that involves removing a lot of fittings so the inspector can see inside the boiler and some of the pipes.

    When you put two actuators on a board, did you wire them in series or parallel? Or how did you run them together?

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY 6 дней назад

      I used 2 amps, which were fed the same signal from my laptop using a splitter. Each exciter was wired to a single channel on each amp, and the subwoofer was wired to a dedicated sub channel on one of the amps. So, these were wired in parallel - though you *can* certainly wire them in series, if your amp is rated for the increased resistance per channel. Thanks for watching!
